Seminar "New Insights into Platelet G Protein Signaling and Integrin Affinity Regulation"
October 7th, 2026; 4PM
Aula Buzzati-Traverso - Genetica e Microbiologia Building - Via Ferrata 9
Speaker: Professor Wolfgang Bergmeier, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, US
Bergmeier’s research employs a multidisciplinary approach (biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, immunology, cutting-edge microscopy and animal models) to investigate how stem cells turn into a unique blood cell, the platelet, and how altered platelet function contributes to human disease. In the past years Bergmeier’s lab has made major contributions to understanding platelet G protein signaling and integrin activation and the mechanisms regulating platelet reactivity.
