HOW TO REACH THE DBB
How to reach Pavia and the DBB
Pavia si located close to Milano (some 30 km to the south of Milano). As such Pavia is easily reached from Milano, by car and train. The DBB is just outside Pavia, in the so-called “Polo Universitario Cravino” which is the University campus that hosts the scientific Faculties of our University. The area is the same where the city main hospitals are and you can see it below as a Google map.
The street address for the DBB is via Ferrata 9, 27100 Pavia, Italy.
The typical access to Pavia is by the highway system, generaly with the A7 – Milano/Genova or the A21 – Torino/Piacenza.
A7 – Milano/Genova. Either coming from Genova or from Milano the exit to Pavia is the same: “Bereguardo – Pavia Nord”: Once you exit the A7 you will have a 10 Km drive to reach Pavia. Approaching Pavia take the direction “Tangenziale Ovest” and then the exit named “Istituti Universitari”. Once you get out of the Tangenziale Ovest you will be a the rotatory that you can see in this map, across via Adolfo Ferrata. There are several parking lots and the DBB buildings are in the area labeled “Dipartimento di Genetica e Microbiologia” in the map.
A21 – Torino/Piacenza. Coming from Torino take the A7 at the A21/A7 junction named Tortona, then follow the A7 headed to Milano and get out at Bereguardo – Pavia Nord, and follow the instructions as above.
If you are reaching Pavia by car but not using the highway system, the easiest option to reach the DBB is again to take the Pavia Tangenziale and follow the direction (A7 – Milano/Genova). The exit to the DBB is Istituti Universitari.
Pavia is well connected to Milano (both the main railway station Stazione Centrale, as well as Milano Lambrate and Milano Rogoredo). Most trains to Pavia are headed to Genova; this is the link to the timetables of Trenitalia.
CITY BUS TO THE DBB
Once you are in the Pavia – typically at the railway station – there are taxi and public transportation. Three bus lines are directed to the DBB. Check the timetables of all city bus lines here AUTOGUIDOVIE Pavia.
Line 3 and 7 buses are across the train station square. For line 3 take the bus headed to Maugeri/Colombarone and get off at the bus stop Ferrata/Tangenziale which is just in front of the main entrance to the “Polo Universitario Cravino” where are the DBB buildings.
For line 7 take the bus headed to Maugeri/Tebaldi and get off at the same stop as for line 3.
Line 6 is the third option. The bus stop is behind the railway station in Brichetti street. You can easily reach it using the walkaway beneath the station. Take the bus headed to Cascina Pelizza and get off at the bus stop Abbiategrasso/Ist. Volta. You will be at a side of the Polo Universitario Cravino.
