European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) ESCMID support research projects in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases.

ESCMID research grants help young outstanding investigators pursue ground-breaking research in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases.
Recipient: PI born on or after 1 January 1984.
Budget: 20.000 euro over 12-24 months. ESCMID has reserved up to EUR 50,000 each for two excellently rated projects.

- Study Group Research Grant
This funding is exclusively available for official ESCMID Study Group research projects in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. ESCMID has over 30 Study Groups in different specialties within the fields of clinical microbiology.
Recipient: Research must be carried out as a collaborative project involving at least two separate institutions in two different countries.
Budget: The maximum amount granted per project is 30,000 €, over 2 years.
Deadline: July 19, 2023
- Study Group Collaboration Grant
The Study Group Collaboration Grant is a larger-scale grant for innovative research projects in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases organised by an experienced PI with the support of at least 3 ESCMID Study Groups collaborating together.
Recipient: Experienced PI.
Budget: The maximum amount granted per project is 180,000 €.
